Merge Purchase Line Items
One powerful feature at a time.
Merge Purchase Line Items
The Problem
You scanned or built a purchase and the same item landed on it twice, maybe once from the invoice and once from a packing slip. Now you have two lines for one product and your receiving is harder to follow.
The Solution
Use Merge Into on any line to fold it into another line on the same purchase. The quantities are added to the line you pick and the extra line is removed.
How to Use It
- Open the purchase before it has been received.
- Click the three-dot menu at the end of the line you want to get rid of.
- Choose Merge Into.
- Select the line to keep from the Merge Into list.
- Click Merge and confirm.

What to Expect
- Merging is only available before a purchase is received or paid. After that the option is greyed out, because received stock and payments already depend on the lines.
- Only lines on the same purchase can be merged.
- Merging cannot be undone, so check you picked the right line to keep.
- Look over the price on the kept line afterward and correct it if needed.
Pro Tip
If a line is on the wrong purchase altogether, merge is not the tool. If the line has the wrong item on a purchase you already received, see Swap Item on a Received Purchase.
